Initializing...

Getting Started

Bring Numerix Analytics Service (NAS) pricing and risk analytics into Excel. Value instruments, build and inspect trades, and import valuation and instrument data using custom functions backed by a shared runtime.

First, initialize

When you open the add-in, click Initialize on the NAS XL ribbon. This clears any context and logs left over from a previous Excel session so you start with a clean, consistent state.

Click Initialize once each time you start working. You can click it again at any point to fully reset the add-in.

Get started

  1. Click Session on the NAS XL ribbon to log in with your tenant credentials and start a session. Don't have credentials? Contact support.
  2. Type =NAS. in any cell to browse the available custom functions.
  3. Use the Import group on the ribbon to render a sample instrument or valuation into a new worksheet or import a valuation result into the context.
  4. Open Help for a full description of the ribbon, functions, and workflows.

For the best experience, set Excel's calculation mode to Manual (Formulas → Calculation Options → Manual). This prevents NAS functions from recalculating on every change and avoids unnecessary calls to the NAS service. Opening Session Management also sets calculation mode to Manual automatically.
